Azure Palo Alto Firewall & Cloud NGFW Consulting
VM-Series and Cloud NGFW designs for Microsoft Azure and hybrid networks, integrated with your on-premises Palo Alto firewalls.
Palo Alto Networks security for Azure and hybrid networks
Azure Palo Alto firewall deployment is one of our tactical engineering offerings. Whether you are extending an on-premises Palo Alto environment into Azure or securing cloud workloads for the first time, the goal is the same: consistent policy and visibility across every environment.
Options we work with
- VM-Series virtual firewalls deployed in your Azure subscription, giving full PAN-OS control and integration with Panorama.
- Cloud NGFW for Azure, Palo Alto Networks’ managed next-generation firewall service, when you want less infrastructure to operate.
- Hybrid connectivity between on-premises firewalls and Azure using site-to-site VPN or private connectivity.
Design considerations we address
- Hub-and-spoke network design with inspection in the hub
- Azure load balancers and high availability for VM-Series
- User-defined routes so traffic actually passes through the firewall
- Bootstrapping and automation for consistent deployments
- Licensing choices, including bring-your-own-license and pay-as-you-go
- Panorama integration so cloud and on-premises policy are managed together
Getting the details right
Most cloud firewall problems come from routing rather than from the firewall: asymmetric paths, missing routes or traffic that bypasses inspection. We validate traffic flows end to end and document how the design works, so your team can extend it as your Azure footprint grows.
We also offer short-term staff augmentation for Azure cloud engineering. See Staff Augmentation.

Frequently asked questions
Should we use VM-Series or Cloud NGFW in Azure?
VM-Series gives full control and works like your other Palo Alto firewalls. Cloud NGFW is a managed service with less infrastructure to run. The right choice depends on your team, your policy needs and how you manage the rest of your firewalls.
